Shameela qualified as a solicitor in 2004 having trained with Finers Stephens Innocent in the West End. She then joined L E Law in 2005.
Shameela specialises in private family law work which includes divorce, financial remedy and children matters.
She has expertise in drafting, advising and negotiating with respect to pre and post nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and financial settlements in both divorce and cohabitation cases.
She deals confidently with international aspects of family cases to include European law, Sharia law and also the impact of cultural and religious aspects to a case.
Shameela's other specialisms include private client work which complements her family law practice. This includes non-contentious work such as drafting of Wills and LPAs and administering estates, especially with a foreign element, and also contentious work to include applications under the Inheritance Act 1975, rectification of wills, undue influence and duress.
Shameela provides a high level of client care as she recognises that this can be an exceptionally difficult time for her clients and she is also a member of Resolution.
